Top 3 Causes of Cellulite

We all know what cellulite is. And if you’re reading this website then chances are you have some cellulite – perhaps a lot of it.

But what are the main cellulite causes?

Getting “orange peel skin” is not inevitable. Not every woman ends up with it. It comes on as your body changes due to such circumstances as weight gain and loss, and pregnancy.

What is Cellulite?

It is simply fatty collections under the skin that is most commonly found on the thighs, stomach and buttocks.

All of this extra fat pushes against your connective tissue and these results in a dimpling at the surface.

Cellulite is most common in women, but some men also have it.

How Much Cellulite?

There are some factors that will determine if you will get it, and how bad it is. These includes your gender (women normally have it worse), your genes, how much excess fat your body has, your age and of course whether you’ve ever had a baby.

So we could say the main causes of cellulite are:

1. Being Pregnant

Yes, pregnancy can cause this horrible problem. Because you gain and lose weight in such a short amount of time, your skin stretches and then loses some elasticity.

2. Weight Fluctuations

Similar to pregnancy above, when you put on weight and then lose it (or for some people, just put on weight continuously), cellulite is very likely to occur.

3. Genes

If your mother and grandmother had cellulite then there is more chance you will also have it. That doesn’t mean you can’t prevent or get rid of it; it just means you might have to work a little harder to control it as you get older.

Nobody likes having cellulite, but you can do something about it.
